X30Cr13, 1.4028 - specification and application

3H13 is a martensitic chromium grade group of stainless steels designed for hardening and tempering. Steel is on the list of related counterparts - 0H13, 1H13, 2H13 and 4H13 - groups of materials without nickel, containing an average of 13% of chromium, which is mainly distinguished by the carbon content in the chemical composition and thus the higher endurance properties.

The differences have a significant effect on the ability to obtain individual hardness compartments and on the level of corrosion resistance, where 3H13/X30Cr13 is a balanced choice between 2H13 and 4H13.

This grade of steel is mainly used for the manufacture of shafts, glands, drops, valves, bolts, springs, piston rods, machine parts, molds for pressurized castings, knives and tools used in the food and household industries in the form of rods, wires or cold rolled metal plates where the nedded hardness is 45-51 HRC.

Steel exhibits relatively low corrosion resistance - it can work in a room environment, in contact with a larger group of products and food intermediates, and some of carbonates, acetates, and hydroxides.
