X10CrAl24, X10CrAlSi25, 1.4762 - chemical composition and use

X10CrAlSi25 / 1.4762 is currently the most frequently used substitute for the H24JS ferritic grade. In addition to high temperatures, steel exhibits resistance to environments containing Sulfur compounds and reducing gases, and dimensional stability as opposed to nickel-containing austenitic grades.

The ferritic structure, unfortunately, significantly reduces creep resistance, shapeability, weldability, and at the same time increases the thermal conductivity of the material and brittleness at high temperatures.

The H24JS grade is the right choice for components and subassemblies working in high temperatures, difficult environments, without significant loads. The main application of the products are parts of plastic mass driers, parts of steam boilers and industrial furnaces, guiding rails, covers or supports for steam heaters.
