X10CrMoVNb9-1, 1.4903 - Boiler steel

X10CrMoVNb9-1 and its counterparts P91, T91 are high-alloy grades designed to work at elevated temperatures with a martensitic structure. Most often found in the form of seamless pipes, bars or forged elements, they are used in the production of installations, pipelines, boilers and other components of power equipment.

X10CrMoVNb9-1 steel is becoming more and more popular due to much better mechanical properties, resistance to creep, corrosion and thermal fatigue. In contrast to the well-known, proven boiler grades, 1.4903 should be classified as high-alloyed heat-resistant boiler steel due to the increased content of chromium, and small amounts of less frequently used alloy additives.

Its price in relation to standard grades such as 13HMF, 14MoV6-3 is certainly higher, however, along with the price, the length of service life and higher material durability also increases.
