HS18-0-1, 1.3355, AISI T1 - specification and application
High-speed steel with good ductility, machinability and hardness up to 63 HRC used for roughing and finishing tools with medium strength parameters.
SW18 can be used for the production of turning tools, chisel cutters, turning and planing, milling cutters, drill bits, threading tools, saw segments, planer knives, small circular saws, reamers, taps working on automatic machines, and screw cutters.

- Hardness in +A delivery condition: <269 HB
- Hardness in +A+C delivery condition: <319 HB
- Hardness in +A+CR delivery condition: <339 HB
- Hardness after hardening and tempering:
- at 300 ℃ = 63 HRC
- at 350 ℃ = 60,5 HRC
- at 400 ℃ = 60,5 HRC
- at 450 ℃ = 63 HRC
- at 500 ℃ = 65 HRC
- at 550 ℃ = 65 HRC
- at 600 ℃ = 60,5 HRC
- at 650 ℃ = 57,5 HRC
- at 700 ℃ = 48 HRC
Heat and plastic treatment of HS18-0-1, 1.3355, AISI T1 - processes and temperatures
- Softening annealing at a temperature of 800 - 900 ℃
- Relief annealing at a temperature of 600 - 700℃
- Heating no. I in a temp. of about 550℃
- Heating no. II in a temp. of about 850℃
- Austenitizing at 1230 - 1270 ℃ (hardening in salt bath and oil)
- Tempering usually in the range of 550 - 570 ℃
- Tempering usually in the range of 550 - 570 ℃
- Nitriding in the temperature range of 510 - 530 ℃
