The AIR 9160/C standard of 25 May 1972 defines a group of French low-alloy, alloy and high-alloy steels approved for use in the aviation industry - exposed to critical loads, corrosion, cracks and the harmful effects of low and high temperatures. Products should have positive results of tests for particular types of defects and low content of impurities. The standard also defines the mechanical properties of steel in particular delivery conditions.
