NMV, 1.2842, 90MnCrV8 - Specification and Application
Cold-work tool steel, hardenable and wear resistant. This grade is not very prone to deformation during heat treatment, shows high dimensional stability, and provides long-lasting blade durability. It does not handle excessive heating well, due to its low tempering resistance. This steel is used for manufacturing precision tools and measuring plates, dies, woodworking milling cutters, broaches, hand reamers, cutting plates, circular knives, blades for cutting paper, tobacco, and leather, threading jaws, spindles, gauges, micrometer screws, and molds for pressing plastic parts.
