65S2WA – description
Steel used for loaded springs and torsion shafts in the automotive industry. Toughening steel with quite high hardenability.
Limited weldability. Requires preheating before welding. It is not resistant to any corrosive environment, including air.

Heat treatment and working
Recommended working and heat treatment parameters for 65S2WA alloy:
- Forging: 1180-800 °C
- Rolling: 1230-840 °C
- Quenching: 835-865 °C / o
- Tempering: 370-470 °C
- Normalizing annealing: 840-860 °C
- Soft annealing: 640-680 °C
