40CDV12, 40CrMoV13-9, 39CrMoV13, 1.8523 - specifications and application

40CrMoV13-9 / 40CDV12 is a structural alloy steel grade intended for nitriding, of which a similar equivalent with a slightly lower carbon content is 32CDV13 / 33CrMoV12-9 / 1.8522.

The steel is characterized by even greater hardness which reduces surface wear after nitriding, high hardenability, high strength properties, resistance to stress, and higher core plasticity compared to standard nitriding materials. The grade is adapted to the production of components and elements, among others, in the aerospace industry.
