34CrAlNi7-10, 1.8550 - specifications and application

34CrAlNi7 is intended for work at elevated temperatures in an environment that requires high sliding properties, corrosion, temperature, abrasion, and fatigue resistance. Steel with the addition of Nickel and Aluminum used in the energy, machinery, and automotive industries for large cross-sections elements in the heat treated condition. The products are used in the manufacture of screws, rods, cylinders, pistons, gears, extruders, and rings, which do not require welding.

    • The yield point, Re: > 680 MPa

    • Impact resistance, KV20℃: >30J
  • Dimensions 40 - 100mm
    • Tensile strength, Rm: 850 - 1050 MPa
    • The yield point, Re: > 650 MPa
    • Elongation, A:> 12%
    • Impact resistance, KV20℃: >30J
  • Dimensions 100 - 250mm
    • Tensile strength, Rm: 800 - 1000 MPa
    • The yield point, Re: > 600 MPa

  • Hardness in +A condition: <248 HB
  • Hardness of nitrided surface, HV1: 950

Heat treatment of 34CrAlNi7-10, 1.8550:

  • Softening annealing at a temperature of 650 - 700 ℃
  • Hardening at 870 - 930 ℃ for at least half an hour with cooling in water or oil
  • Tempering at 580 - 700℃ for a minimum of 700 hour
  • Nitriding at a temperature of 480 - 570℃
