Steel 30H/34Cr4 - implementation and specification

Structural steel designed for heat improvement with low hardness and high ductility, easy for thermo-mechanical treatment, which achieves the best mechanical properties in the dimensions of 30-45mm, depending on the heat treatment method (hardening in oil/water). Products in this grade are used in the manufacture of parts and subassemblies of machines, structures and small vehicles.

The 30H steel is a derivative of the 40H and 20H grades which are distinguished by the range of carbon content (20H for carburizing), with alloy additives remaining at a similar percentage. The 30H steel is in many situations a good and at the same time a cheaper alternative to chromium-nickel species, where small dimensions of the final product are preserved.

Materials in the aforementioned grade are weldable, but the joining processes are not advisable for steel users. Supplied in the form of bars, wires and forgings, is used for such parts and components as spigots, nuts, axles, shafts, rockets, bolts, nuts, rollers, couplings, gears, levers, piston rods for pumps.
