100MnCrW4, 1.2510 - specifications and application

Tool steel for cold-working at low speeds with low tendency to hardening cracking and dimensional deformation while hardening and tempering processes. NMWV and its equivalents are materials exhibiting high hardness, as well as significantly increased resistance to abrasion, what favors cutting processes during operation.

The NMWV and 100MnCrW4/1.2510 grades are used for the production of trimmers and blanking dies, special knives, dies, reamers, cutting saws, broaches, thread and piston rods, taps, milling cutters, broaches, and precision measuring tools. NMWV steel can be used interchangeably with NWC materials.

Mechanical properties of 100MnCrW4, 1.2510:

  • Linear expansion coefficient, α: 11.9 * 10-6 K-1
  • Thermal conductivity, λ: 25 W * m-1 * K-1
  • Hardness in softened condition: <241 HBW
  • Hardness after hardening and tempering:
