C50, 1.0540, C50E, 1.1206 - description
Non-alloy toughening machine steel, strong and sufficiently ductile, used in both normalized and toughened condition, as well as case-hardened condition, for wear-resistant machine parts (gears, rollers, shafts, axles, rims, wheels).
In soft annealed condition it is machinable and in normalized and soft annealed condition - shearable.

Heat treatment and working
Recommended working and heat treatment parameters for C50E alloy:
- Forging and rolling: 1050-800 °C
- Quenching: 810-850 °C
- Tempering: 550-660 °C
- Normalizing annealing: 830-870 °C
- Soft annealing: 650-700 °C
