46CrSiMoV7 / 1.2329 – description
Hot-work tool steel for mould press dies, pressure disks for extrusion and forging dies. It has good resistance to tempering and good properties in high-temperature. Weldable. Nitridable. Coatable.
Physical and mechanical properties
The hardness after soft annealing: max 230 HB.
The hardness after toughening: 53-55 HRC.
Heat treatment and working
Recommended working and heat treatment parameters for 1.2329 alloy:
- Forging: 1100-900 °C
- Rolling: 1100-900 °C
- Soft annealing: 780-800 °C
- Quenching: 870-920 °C
- Tempering: 200-250 °C
