30HGSNA, 30HGSN2A - specification and application

A structural alloy grade similar to 30HGSA, enriched with nickel for better plasticity and significantly higher mechanical properties. Used mainly on extremely loaded shafts and parts of aircraft engines. It is characterized by high hardenability, high tensile strength, lack of tempering brittleness and extremely high yield strength. 30HGSNA is hardened in oil, tempers at low and medium temperatures, achieving the best properties up to 100mm diameter. The products are not suitable for welding.

  • Tensile strength, Rm >1617 N/mm2
  • Yield strength, Re: >1375 N/mm2
  • Elongation, A: >9%
  • Necking, Z: >45%
  • Impact energy, KU2: >59 J
  • Hardness, HB: >450
  • Linear expansion coefficient: 11,5 * 10-6 K-1

Heat treatment - processes and temperatures:

  • Softening annealing at a temperature of 640-680°C
  • Softening annealing at a temperature of 840-860°C
  • Hardening in oil at 900°C
  • Tempering in the temperature range 200-300°C (260)
