1.4580 / X6CrNiMoNb17-12-2, Z6CNDNb17-12 – description

The alloy is used for fasteners, heat exchangers, coolers, tanks, pumps, pipelines and similar equipment of refineries, paper mills, food processing plants and chemical plants. It is resistant to intergranular corrosion.

According to PN-EN ISO 3506, 1.4580 is an A5 class stainless steel for fasteners. That means the thread smaller than 24mm in diameter has strength class of 80, and the elongation A equals 0.3 * the nominal diameter of the thread.

The alloy cannot be hardened and is non-magnetic. Niobium is the stabilizer.
